I stay at this facility every year for an event and often we use it for day programs during the year.
The staff is always helpful, the rooms meet my expectation and the hotel has been very good for our group whether the event is just for a day or if we have people stay for a night.

Two nights at Crowne Plaza, Southbury

First time we have stayed at this Crowne Plaza and it is very nice but, like most Crowne Plazas it lacks a refrigerator in each room. The frig is an important item when travelling from far (Florida) and for many days. We visited our daughter, son-in-law and grandkids from nearby Oxford, CT. We had the oldest grandchild stay with us at the hotel and we all enjoyed using the indoor pool and restaurant facilities.
One staff member who waited on us three separate times and is the friendliest and sociable is Shaun. He served our breakfast two mornings and also lunch in the lounge with our whole family. He was great.
As a big user of the IHG hotel group I can tell you that Shaun represents you very well. He is an asset for sure and makes everyone happy.

Wireless did not work. The spa did not work. Heater was noisy. Could not sleep. Was very glad to go back home.

Disappointing

I stayed here 2 nights. The WiFi didn't work at all the 1st night and only worked sporadically the 2nd night. I need to use my computer, I would not have stayed here if I knew they didn't have functioning internet. The phone auto dial to the desk didn't work either.

I went to get coffee in the morning and the coffee pot is empty... no coffee. I then went for the breakfast buffet. I was served lukewarm coffee and the food was not good, stale and dried out.

I've stayed here before and usually have an okay experience. The rooms are decent, clean, the beds are nice. After this, I will probably stay elsewhere next time.
