酒店位置很好,距离新瀉车站距离适中,酒店工作人员态度很好,可惜不怎么通晓中文;酒店内设施不错,有免费无线网络,但是网速一般,浏览网页等还是没有问题。

Disappointing Customer Service

I consider Japanese customer service to be some of the best in the world, and as an elite member of the IHG rewards program (Platinum Royal Ambassador) I typically receive EXCELLENT customer service from IHG group hotels.

However my recent stay at the Crowne Plaza Niigata left me a little shocked and disappointed with this hotel's customer service. The level of service was clearly lower than I have experienced at many other Crowne Plaza and Intercontinental hotels in Japan.

Since I'm fluent in Japanese I politely discussed my concern and frustration with the manager on duty who was very nice but apparently lacked the authority or motivation to easily address my simple request.

However since we exchanged business cards I was able to send a follow-up email summarizing the issue, but I've received no reply to my concern or even acknowledgement that they would consider it.

Although I would prefer to stay at IHG hotels, I've received much better customer service at non-IHG hotels in Niigata. Until this Crowne Plaza can resolve my concern I will avoid this hotel.
