Good Leisure hotel with drawbacks

platinumelite

The rooms here are modern and well kept. Unfortunately we were woken up at 2.14AM by revellers (I assume the bar closes at 2AM), they should do a better job of insulating the rooms from corridor noise, especially on the executive floor.

The club lounge was disappointing. Small size apart, they have an issue with service here. In the evening we were there for 45 minutes, consumed two soggy samosas and no more snacks/canapes were bought out in the time period. Breakfast the following morning - in the lounge for over an hour and no replenishment of food. Worse still the coffee machine ran out of milk so only black coffee available. Novel to see people drinking coke at breakfast for that caffeine hit

Great Venue for my 60th Birthday Weekend and Party

By

club

A perfect weekend celebrating my birthday with friends and family of all ages, many of whom stayed overnight/for the weekend. Made the most of all the hotel's facilities and had a great party in the Glaze Conservatory on Saturday night. Hog Roast excellent as were all the staff. Drinks are on the pricey side - especially when service is added at 12.5% to the signed for amount.

We were most impressed with the room and the friendly helpfulness of the staff.

We felt, however, that the drink, especially the wine, was overpriced and our eventual bill did not properly itemise the bar purchases.

Typical example of a conference/business orientated hotel

By

The access to this hotel is dire. The fact that it is through an industrial estate didn't concern me but the estate users' cars are parked or dumped anywhere. Heavy lorries use this route and it is impassable at times especially during rush hour. There is an alternative route but unfortunately the locals use it and it is worse.
Room was excellent bed really comfortable good facilities- shower etc.
Mini bar prices only for expense accounts £8.50 for 250ml wine.
Restaurant is a bit dark and cheerless. Shame really as the view through the conservatory is beautiful across the valley.
Buffet breakfast was only average - fruit bowl of bananas over ripe. Continental meats and cheese dry. Husband ate cooked breakfast only once in our 6 day stay and settled for orange juice, cereal and toast.
Didn't try evening meals, price looks good but prefer somewhere with some atmosphere - eg The Queen's Head at Little Marlow 15 minutes away.
