Very convenient

18 November 2014

We have stayed at this hotel twice now, mainly for the convenience. Terminal 3 is only a 5 minute walk away, which helps with early morning flights.

Poor service for Platinum guest.

16 November 2014

This property can learn a lot from the Crown Plaza at London Heathrow!! During check in I asked the front desk clerk if I had excess to the club lounge and he informed me I did not as my rate wasn't booked with the club access. I totally understood as I know it’s up to each property if they want to give you club access. This is a plus one for the Heathrow property as I have gotten it every time. The next day when I was checking out I saw I was charged for internet and asked them why I was charged as this was a guaranteed amenity for platinum guest. The front desk staff proceed to tell me I had to select the free internet service and not the high speed. So let me get this straight a regular guest gets that SLOW internet for free and a Platinum guest gets the same internet for free not the high speed. While he is telling me this its pure attitude the entire time. He did eventually remove the internet charge after words so that was a plus. But non of this should of happened at ALL. recognize the difference between a standard guest and someone that's part of IHG!! Oh I forgot my amazing gift of 600 points for being platinum WOW (sarcasm). What a joke of Crown Plaza. Worst one I have ever stayed in and I have stayed in few throughout UK. They should ask the GM of Heathrow to come over and teach them what customer service is. Would I recommend this place, it’s a big fat NO!

Good things - the staff. fantastic. Also the gym was pretty well equipped for a hotel. Breakfast was good and had loads of fun with the juicer.

However my evening meals were terrible. I stay at hotels most weeks and know what is standard. I ate at all three establishments - the first two nights i went to bed hungry because the food i was served in the bar, then in the Asian restaurant was such a low standard I couldn't eat it.

The only time I got an decent meal when i fork out £26 for a steak (I was so hungry by then) which actually in fairness was good. I would have gone somewhere else, but basically you are surrounded by dual carriage ways, you can only get anywhere with a taxi, and frankly you would only have other airport hotels or Manchester airport to choose from.

Wouldn't stay there again.

Pre-holiday break and exceptional service

11 November 2014

We booked a dinner, bed and breakfast one-night stay before our 6.00am flight and were able to enjoy a delicious meal in the grill restaurant, an early night and a wake up call to set us off on our way.
After checking in at the airport I realised with dismay that I had left my mobile phone in the hotel bedroom. The staff collected it for me and sent it over with the shuttle bus driver within around 15 minutes - thank you so much!
