Fantastic food.

Despite having a blip in our service the kitchen staff made up for it by more than rectifying the situation and our dinner was enjoyed by all in the group. The food was really delicious, plenty of it and of great quality.

Good hotel depending on where your room is, breakfast a bit disappointing.

I have stayed at the Crowne Plaza hotel at Gatwick airport many times for business and overall it is a pleasant hotel. The rooms are nice and always clean and the staff are helpful. Depending on where your room is situated, it can be very noisy, I find the top floors are generally quieter. I have had rooms which are just across from the kitchen/waste bins and smoking shelter and I have found these rooms to be the worst for noise. Also I have been disturbed by other guests making noise in the corridors. At my last stay at this hotel I was upgraded to a club room. The room was very nice and big. These rooms are in a special 'quiet zone' and it certainly was a lot quieter than the rest of the hotel rooms. A little disappointed that since it was a free upgrade, I was not allowed to enjoy all the benefits from being a Club room, like the club lounge. The breakfast at the hotel is the most disappointing bit about the hotel. There is lots of choice of meat and cereal, and the cooked breakfast is ok, but I would not say there was much choice for the cooked breakfast for example there is no black pudding and you only get the choice of smoked bacon. I would also like to see fresh rolls served, but there is only bread.
Overall, nice hotel to stay at for business, not sure I would be impressed with the cost of the rooms if I was there for pleasure.
However, I would recommend this hotel to people who are travelling from Gatwick airport, it is easy to get to by bus or taxi.

Very comfortable

The Crowne is a very well presented modern looking hotel. Helpful and friendly staff throughout and the furniture is well maintained and solid. My room was as good as you could hope for from any hotel room. Very clean, modern and lots of space so you don't feel boxed in. Fixtures and fitting were all in good condition and full freeview on the TV, some hotels just give you a couple of channels to kind of force you to leave the room to watch things on the bar/lounge TV screen. Just two points marked the visit down. 1. bit of a silly one but i do like a outlet socket next to my bed to plug in my phone. 2. The air con.......very poor. The room was so hot that in the end i had to get out of bed and open the window risking the planes keeping me awake. Sort out the air con problem and this hotel is top drawer.

The only negative comment you made was with regards to the AC, unfortunately we do not have a duel system and in October we change from AC to heating. This October has been very mild and the need for heating was not really so important to our guests. We can always provide fans if you needed to cool the room.
