Not what we expected

This hotel is beautiful at first glance but once you check in things go downhill. We had several problems starting with being told each room had a refrigerator and microwave which was not true. Our next problem was that the air conditioning didn't work. We kept hoping the first night that it would get cooler but it didn't. We told the front desk at 7am and they did have someone come and fix it at 5pm. We did not sleep well in our beds because they are very small along with the tiny pillows so that they would fit on the bed. This was my mistake because my reservation did say 2 beds which I assumed were queens...again my mistake. The first morning we made some coffee and there wasn't any tea bags so we stopped down at the front desk and they do not have tea bags. We were there for a wedding and many other family members had problems with their rooms also. The front desk staff was not helpful to us or any of family members.

Disppointed in checking in

I am a frequent business traveler to the NJ area and have stayed at this IHG previously. I was disappointed in how my check in was handled arriving early at 2:45 PM. I understand the check in time is 4PM. No argument here. However the front desk clerk was not very sympathetic to a weary business person. I would thought seh could have offered a cold water and advise me to stay close and they would keep me posted on the room being ready. I understand the hotel was busy the night before. Also will pint out I was not greeted as a Platinum IGH member. This experience has not changed my opinion of IGH in general. I have a great experience most of the times I stay at their properties.

beautiful hotel, front desk not helpful

This hotel is beautiful, room had a great view.
However, the room was not maintained well, an outlet was not covered, and loosely connected, the lamp plug would not stay plugged in. A mirror or picture was obviously missing. The remote control was missing and when I called the front desk no one answered. The phone had many quick dial buttons, the only one that answered was a recording that I had not booked a wake-up call, even 0 didn't work.
The shower tap was extremely difficult to turn on, which obviously was an issue because there was a sign with instructions. Although the instructions didn't help.
The front desk could not print me a confirmation at check out, told me to call IHG rewards, rewards told me to call the hotel. Now I have a charge on my card and the front desk tells me I have to call back when their accountant is in.

The hotel is beautiful, I hope this was a fluke because I will be in the area again and felt the location ideal.

Nice folks

The hotel personnel went out of their way to make life as pleasant as possible. There were temperature issue in the rooms as well as in the conference area. This is the second time in 3 years I have stayed here. Both times the people were great to work with, but the building seems to always spring leaks in its meeting rooms. Too bad the building issues keep happening with such great personnel.
